Getting Here ...
Leeds Beer, Cider and Perry Festival takes place at Pudsey Civic Hall which is conveniently located close to New Pudsey train station and several bus routes. Confusingly, Pudsey Civic Hall is not in the centre of Pudsey, but is near the ring road on the edge of Stanningley and Farsley. It is, however, in Leeds (by about 200 yards).
Those who want to properly pin-point the location may want to know that the hall's post code is LS28 5TA. The street address is Dawson's Corner, Pudsey. It's the big grey building with the beer festival banner hanging outside.
Please do not drink and drive. There really is no excuse.
The following transport information is provided "as is". While we believe everything is correct, it is obviously not our fault if particular trains or buses fail to run, or if your taxi doesn't turn up. You may be interested in West Yorkshire Metro's on-line complaints form.
We hope to have timetables for train and bus services available from the CAMRA shop during the festival.
By Train ...
For those coming from the centres of Leeds or Bradford, the train is
probably the easiest way to get to the festival.
The venue is about five to ten minutes walk from the station. It's best
to allow longer for the return journey. The route is sign-posted, or you
can just follow everyone else.
New Pudsey Station is on the Caldervale Line which runs from Leeds to Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Manchester and beyond. Journey time from either Leeds City Station or Bradford Interchange is about 10 minutes. Full details and timetables can be found at West Yorkshire Metro's site, where you can also find advice about ticket prices and so on.
On the days of the festival, trains are scheduled to run every fifteen minutes or so during the day, and every half hour during the evening. According to the timetable, the last trains to Leeds are 23:13 and 23:44 on Thursday and Friday, and 23:13 and 00:14 on Saturday. In the other direction, to Bradford, they are 22:49 and 23:20 on all three days.
New Pudsey station is also legendary for being one of the very few train stations in West Yorkshire to have appeared on Monty Python's Flying Circus.
By Bus ...
The following buses all pass Pudsey Civic Hall:
| 8 | Pudsey to Colton |
| 9 | Horsforth to Seacroft |
| 15 | Leeds to Bradford |
| 72 | Leeds to Bradford |
| 80, 81 | Pudsey to Tinshill and Holt Park |

| X6 | Leeds to Huddersfield |
Timetables can be found on West Yorkshire Metro's site. Journey times vary between services, according to the scenic nature of the route taken. Metro's Journey Planner will help you find the swiftest route for you.
By Air ...
Pudsey Civic Hall is handy for Leeds Bradford International airport. It's about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. Alternatively, take the 757 airport bus to Leeds station, and take the train. There are direct flight to the airport from Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Exeter, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Isle of Man, London Heathrow, Newquay, Plymouth and Southampton, and many European airports.
By Taxi ...
Taxis and Private Hire vehicles are plentiful in Leeds. There is a payphone in the Hall, decorated with cards from local taxi firms.
Especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, you would do well to book a taxi well in advance to avoid a long wait.
By Bike ...
There is no formal facility for parking bicycles at the Hall, but there are plenty of lamp-posts and similar, so bring a lock and chain. Obviously, if you are going to have a few beers, please plan an alternative method of transport to get yourself and your bicycle home.
On Foot ...
The centre of Pudsey is about 20 minutes walk away. The Hall could be reached as a detour from the Leeds Country Way and the Leeds to Ilkley section of the Pennine Way link.
